The Audi RS 7 has 17 recalls spanning 2014 through 2026, with the most serious being a cylinder bore cracking defect on 2021 models that can cause engine damage, a sudden stall, or an oil leak that raises the risk of fire.

A second 2021 recall covers rear axle lock nuts that can break and misalign the rear axle, causing loss of control. On the safety restraint side, 2021 models have three separate concerns: a front door crash sensor connector that can detach and delay side airbag and seatbelt pretensioner activation in a side impact, a passenger airbag with an incorrectly manufactured score line that can fail to deploy or eject plastic fragments into the cabin, and a rear seatbelt retractor issue that can leave a child restraint unsecured.

Liquid spilled in the rear seat of 2021-2022 models can reach the gateway control module and cause it to shut down, suddenly cutting engine power while driving. The fuel level sender on 2021-2022 vehicles can stick and display an inaccurate reading, potentially causing an unexpected stall when the tank runs dry. Rearview camera display failures affect multiple recent years: a software error can prevent the camera image from appearing on 2021-2026 models, and a separate infotainment system issue can blank the camera display on 2022 models. The instrument panel on 2021 models can also go dark due to a software fault, hiding the speedometer and warning lights.

A rear axle alignment issue on 2021 models can cause premature or uneven tire wear. Also on 2021 vehicles, an incorrectly labeled brake fluid cap can lead to the wrong fluid being used, reducing braking performance.

Going back to 2014-2017 models, the turbocharger oil supply strainer can become blocked, starving the bearings of lubrication. When the bearings wear, the turbine wheel can contact the housing or the shaft can break, stalling the engine. On 2014-2018 models equipped with basic front passenger seats, the body-sensing mat inside the seat can wear or degrade, causing the passenger occupant detection system to malfunction and potentially preventing the front passenger airbag from deploying in a crash. The 2016-2018 model years carry an incorrect tire information label that overstates the vehicle's maximum combined load capacity.
