The 2006 Bugatti Veyron has 3 recalls, the most serious being a corroding positive battery cable that can overheat at its connection to the alternator and start a fire.
The fuel system carries its own concern: the fuel tank gauge can read higher than the actual fuel level, meaning the engine may stall without warning when the driver believes there is still fuel remaining. A stall at highway speeds, where this car typically operates, leaves little margin to coast safely to the shoulder. There is also a structural issue involving the jacking plates mounted to the underside of the body: these plates can separate from the vehicle while driving and become a road hazard, with enough mass to strike a following vehicle.
