The floor liner issue affects vehicles where the liners were installed before delivery or sold as a dealer accessory. When the pedal gets caught beneath the liner, the throttle stays open and the vehicle continues to accelerate. On the lighting side, the brake lights on certain vehicles can flash on and off during hard braking when the anti-lock brake system activates, rather than staying lit continuously. A driver following behind may not clearly recognize that the vehicle ahead is stopping. There is also a compliance issue: some vehicles left the factory without the label that shows correct tire size, inflation pressure, and load capacity. Without that information, a driver has no reference point for proper tire pressure or how much weight the vehicle can safely carry.
