The 1979 Buick Riviera has 3 recalls, the most serious being front engine mount bracket bolts that can loosen and fall out, potentially cutting power to the drive wheels while the vehicle is moving.
The remaining two recalls are compliance-related. On turbocharged V6 models, one or more tubes in the engine vacuum system can become blocked, disrupting spark advance, exhaust gas recirculation, and fuel evaporation functions, which causes the engine to run outside accepted emissions limits. There is also a lighting issue where the front side marker lamps may have been fitted with clear bulbs instead of the required amber ones, reducing how visible the vehicle is to other drivers from the side.
