The 2021 Cadillac CT4 has 4 recalls, the most serious involving the 10-speed automatic transmission, which can suffer internal damage and cause the wheels to lock up without warning while driving.
The roof rail side-curtain airbags may not have been installed correctly, which can cause them to deploy improperly in a crash and reduce the protection they provide to occupants. There is also a software issue in the communications gateway module that causes it to misread the airbag diagnostic system, which can result in the airbag warning light either flickering on when nothing is wrong or failing to light up when a real fault exists. That means a driver may have no reliable indication of whether the airbag system is actually functioning. On the exterior lighting side, a software fault in the lighting control module can prevent the daytime running lights from switching off when the headlights turn on, leaving both active at the same time and creating glare that reduces visibility for other drivers.
