The 2022 Cadillac Escalade has 5 recalls, the most serious involving wheel lockup risks from two separate drivetrain issues: a transfer case defect and a transmission control valve failure, either of which can cause front or rear wheels to lock up suddenly while driving.
On the engine side, vehicles equipped with the 6.2L V8 can develop internal damage to the connecting rod or crankshaft that leads to engine failure while driving. Third-row seat belts are also affected: a rivet in the buckle assembly may not have formed correctly, which can prevent the belt from holding an occupant in a crash. There is also a lighting issue where the daytime running lights may stay on when the headlights are activated, creating glare for other drivers.
