The 2015 Chevrolet Cruze has 4 recalls, the most serious involving an inner tie rod that can separate from the steering gear and cause a complete loss of steering control.
Two recalls raise rollaway concerns. A parking brake cable bracket on certain vehicles may not have been properly fastened during assembly, meaning the parking brake can fail to hold the car on a slope. Separately, an electronic park lock lever may allow the ignition key to be removed before the transmission is fully in Park, leaving the vehicle free to roll while occupants are getting out. There is also a seatbelt concern: a bolt anchoring the driver-side seatbelt assembly may not be tightened to the required torque, which can prevent the belt from holding its full load in a crash.
