The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 5500 has two recalls, the more serious being a brake pressure sensor that can leak fluid into an electrical switch, creating a short circuit that may cause a fire while the vehicle is driving or parked.
The second recall is a brake-related concern where a prior repair did not fully resolve the issue: a wiring harness installed as part of an earlier fix was assembled without protective tape, leaving the wires exposed to damage. If those wires are damaged, the power brake assist can fail, requiring significantly more pedal force to slow the vehicle and raising the risk of a crash.
