The 2018 Dodge Durango has 6 recalls, the most serious being a faulty park lock rod in the transmission that can prevent the vehicle from holding in Park, allowing it to roll away unexpectedly.
A separate issue with the anti-lock brake module can also allow the vehicle to start and shift out of Park without the brake pedal being pressed, creating a rollaway risk, and can disable the anti-lock brakes and electronic stability control while falsely illuminating the brake lights. On the electrical side, a wiring fault under the hood can cause the engine to stall without warning. There is also a software defect in the cruise control system where the system may fail to disengage when the driver tries to cancel it, causing the vehicle to hold speed or accelerate against the driver's input.
