The 2018 Dodge Journey has 7 recalls, the most serious being two electrical issues: a cruise control software defect that can prevent the system from deactivating, and a wiring fault under the hood that can cause the engine to stall unexpectedly.
On the brake side, rear brake caliper pistons may have an insufficient coating that causes gas pockets to form inside them, reducing rear braking force. Three recalls involve the backup camera: the image may take longer than two seconds to appear after selecting reverse, it can drop out entirely while backing up, or an on-screen cautionary message may temporarily block part of the camera's field of view. The remaining recall covers the amber side reflectors built into the headlamp housings, which may not reflect brightly enough to make the vehicle visible to other drivers at night or in low visibility.
