Summary
The Ducati Panigale V4 has 10 recalls spanning 2018 through 2025, with the most serious recent issue affecting 2025 models where a rear brake hose can be damaged by heat, leak brake fluid, and extend stopping distances. The 2018 launch year accounts for the bulk of the recall history. On the fuel system side, 2018 Panigale V4, V4 S, and V4 Speciale models have two separate issues: fuel can spray out of the tank when the cap is opened, raising the risk of fire near any ignition source, and a separate valve plug in the tank's internal breathing system can also leak fuel, presenting the same fire risk. Also on 2018 models, the rear axle shaft can break and cause a sudden loss of control, and the rear brake pads can have friction material that separates from the backing plate, lengthening the distance needed to stop. The 2018-2019 model years share two overlapping issues: an oil cooler output port that can crack and leak oil onto the road, and a timing chain tensioner that can loosen and let oil drip from the tensioner adjustment bolt onto the rear tire. Either of those oil leaks reduces traction under the rear wheel without warning.
