13 recalls across 10 model years
The Ducati Panigale V4 has 13 recalls spanning 2017 through 2026, with the most serious being a rear brake hose defect on 2025–2026 models where excessive heat damages the hose and can cause a sudden, complete loss of rear braking.
The rear axle is a recurring concern across a wide range of production years. On 2018–2024 models, the rear wheel axle can lose structural integrity and break while riding, causing an immediate loss of control. The 2018 model year is also affected by a separate, earlier filing covering the same axle fracture risk.
On 2025 models, the rear brake hose issue overlaps with the 2025–2026 recall above, with heat damage leading to brake fluid leaking and extended stopping distances. Going back to 2018, the rear brake pads can shed their friction material from the backing plate, which reduces braking effectiveness and lengthens stopping distances.
The 2018–2019 model years carry several engine-related concerns. The timing chain tensioner can loosen over time and allow oil to drip from the adjustment bolt onto the rear tire, reducing grip and raising the risk of a crash. Separately, the oil cooler output port can crack and leak oil, with the same consequence of oil reaching the tire or road surface.
The 2017–2019 model years have two fuel system recalls. On 2018 models, a valve plug in the fuel tank's internal breathing system can leak fuel, and on 2018–2019 models, pressure can build in the tank and cause fuel to spray out when the cap is opened. Both conditions raise the risk of fire if fuel contacts an ignition source.
