1992 FORD B SERIES Recalls — Canada & USA

The 1992 Ford B Series has two recalls, both involving the engine throttle system and its ability to return to idle, which can leave the engine stuck at elevated speed with no way to reduce power. One recall affects certain heavy-duty models where the hand throttle cable wears against a brass swivel block on the governor lever. If the damage is severe enough, the cable can jam and prevent the governor lever from dropping back to idle. The second recall applies to trucks equipped with Cummins 5.9-litre or 8.3-litre diesel engines with inline fuel injection pumps, where the throttle return spring can fracture and similarly leave the throttle unable to return to idle on its own.
