What can fail
On trucks with 7.0L EFI gasoline engines, the throttle cable from the accelerator pedal to the governor assembly may have been kinked during assembly. This causes excessive wear of the cable housing inner liner, which can result in the cable fracturing or sticking, making the throttle return to idle or remain stuck in its current position.
What the fix does
The governor assembly, including the throttle cable, will be replaced with a revised design.
