The 1994 Ford L Series has 3 recalls, the most serious being air brake reservoir tanks with faulty welds that can split open under pressure, sending compressed air and debris into the cab floor or surrounding components and potentially injuring the driver. The brake reservoir recalls describe the same underlying defect: the welded seams on the primary or secondary air reservoirs can fail, and beyond the physical hazard of a rupture, a sudden loss of air pressure will cause the rear spring brakes to engage without warning. There is also an electrical recall involving the wiring connector where hood-mounted lamp wiring meets the main harness, which was built without sealing plugs in the unused connector cavities, leaving those openings exposed to moisture and debris.
