2 recalls across 1 model year
The Ford W Series has 2 recalls, both affecting 1975 model year vehicles and both involving the air brake system, where defects can compromise braking performance. On certain 1975 models equipped with Eaton anti-lock air brake controllers, a nylon piston inside the pneumatic valve can swell when exposed to contaminants that build up from insufficient brake system maintenance, which can interfere with proper brake operation. Separately, certain 1975 W9000 trucks built between early October and late April of that production window have incorrectly specified pipe plugs installed in the exhaust port of the trailer air supply valve, which can also disrupt normal brake function.
