Genesis Gv60 Recalls

The Genesis GV60 has 15 recalls covering the 2023–2026 model years, with the most serious being a 2023 seat belt pretensioner defect where the front driver and/or passenger pretensioner can explode during deployment, sending metal fragments into the cabin and striking occupants.

The 2023 model year carries the heaviest recall load across multiple systems. On the drivetrain side, rear axle shafts and rear driveshafts on 2023 all-wheel drive models can fracture or fail under load, causing a sudden loss of drive power while moving. The charging control unit on 2023–2025 models can fail internally and stop charging the 12-volt battery, which also cuts drive power unexpectedly. Separately within the 2023 model year, the front passenger seat belt retractor can malfunction in two ways: it may prevent the belt from fastening or extending properly, or it may lock up after use and prevent the passenger from buckling in at all.

The instrument panel display can go dark on startup due to a software error, leaving the driver without a speedometer, warning lights, or fuel gauge. This issue affects 2023–2025 models. The rearview camera can shut off while reversing on 2024–2025 vehicles, removing rear visibility when backing up. The stainless-steel trim strip above the windshield can detach from the body on 2023–2025 models and become a road hazard for following traffic.

On 2026 models, a separate software error can cause the instrument panel to fail entirely, again hiding the speedometer and other critical gauges from the driver.
