9 recalls across 6 model years
The Genesis GV70 has 9 recalls covering 2022 through 2026 model years, with the most serious being a fuel leak at the connection between the fuel pipe and fuel rail on 2022–2026 vehicles that raises the risk of a fire.
The 2022–2023 model years also have a seatbelt pretensioner defect where the front driver-side and passenger-side pretensioners can explode during a crash, sending metal fragments into the cabin and striking occupants. The 2022 model year is covered by two separate recall campaigns for this same pretensioner issue.
On the 2024 model year, water can leak into the transmission control wiring harness, cause a short circuit, and shift the transmission from Park to Neutral without warning, creating a rollaway risk. The 2022–2023 model years have a fuel pump that can fail and cut drive power while the vehicle is in motion. The 2022 model year is also covered by an earlier, overlapping fuel pump recall with the same consequence.
The 2026 model year has two additional issues: side curtain airbags that may not have been installed correctly and can fail to deploy in a crash, and a software error that can cause the instrument panel display to go blank, taking the speedometer and other critical readouts with it. The 2025 model year has a related instrument panel software defect with the same consequence, and that recall also covers the Electrified variant of the GV70 for 2023–2025.
