The 2023 Genesis GV70 has 3 recalls, the most serious being two separate issues that pose fire and injury risks: a fuel line connection that can leak near the engine, and front seatbelt pretensioners that can explode during a crash and send metal fragments into the cabin.
The fuel leak occurs at the joint between the fuel pipe and the fuel rail, where gasoline can escape and contact hot engine components, raising the risk of a fire. The pretensioner defect affects the front driver and passenger seatbelts: in a crash, the devices that snap the belt tight against your body can rupture violently instead, turning pieces of the mechanism into projectiles that can strike occupants. There is also a fuel pump concern: the pump can fail without warning, cutting power to the engine while the vehicle is in motion and leaving the driver without the acceleration needed to respond to traffic.
