13 recalls across 7 model years
The Genesis GV80 has 13 recalls covering 2020 through 2026 model years, with the most serious being exploding front seatbelt pretensioners on 2020–2023 vehicles that can scatter metal fragments into the cabin and strike occupants in a crash.
On the most recent production years, 2025–2026 models have a software error that can cause the instrument panel display to go blank, taking the speedometer and fuel gauge with it. The 2023–2024 model years share a similar instrument panel software fault where the display can fail and drop critical readouts like the speedometer and warning lights. The 2025 model year also has a rearview camera that can shut off while reversing, removing the rear view entirely.
The seatbelt pretensioner issue runs through 2020–2023 production. In a crash, the front driver-side and passenger-side pretensioners can rupture rather than tighten the belt, sending metal fragments into the cabin. Prior repair attempts on some 2021 vehicles did not fully resolve the problem, and those vehicles require a second repair.
Fuel system concerns are spread across several years. On 2021–2025 models, a fuel line connection at the fuel rail can fail to seal and leak fuel, raising the risk of fire. The 2022–2023 model years have a fuel pump that can fail outright and cut drive power while moving. The same fuel pump failure applies to 2021–2022 vehicles. Separately, 2021 models with the 2.5-litre turbo engine have a high-pressure fuel tube that can leak at its connection to the fuel rail, also creating a fire risk. There is also a low-pressure fuel pump issue specific to 2021 models where high outside temperatures can cause the pump to fail, making the engine run rough, stall, or refuse to start, and potentially cutting power without warning while driving.
