The 2022 Genesis GV80 has 4 recalls, the most serious being front seatbelt pretensioners that can explode during a crash and send metal fragments into the cabin, potentially striking the driver or passenger.
Two separate fuel system concerns also affect this vehicle. A fuel leak can develop at the connection between the fuel pipe and the fuel rail, and any fuel escaping near hot engine components raises the risk of a fire. On the fuel delivery side, the fuel pump can fail and cut power to the engine without warning, leaving the driver without the ability to accelerate or maintain speed, which raises the risk of a crash. Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve the fuel pump issue, and it has been the subject of more than one recall campaign covering this vehicle.
