Two recalls involve the fuel system. A leaking connection between the fuel pipe and fuel rail can allow gasoline to escape near the engine, raising the risk of a fire. Separately from that, the fuel pump itself can fail and cut drive power without warning, leaving the driver unable to accelerate or maintain speed in traffic. On the electrical side, a software error can cause the instrument panel display to go blank, taking the speedometer and warning lights with it and leaving the driver without critical information while in motion.
