Defect

On certain GL1500, GL1500A, GL1500I, GL1500SE, ST1100 and ST1100A, if the bank angle sensor's plastic case material is exposed to high temperature for a prolonged period of time, it may become slightly porous, and the damping fluid may permeate the case material causing less damping force to be exerted on the pendulum. Abrupt turns or riding over bumpy surfaces might allow a sensor with below normal damping levels, to shut off the engine unexpectedly.
