The 2014 Honda Ridgeline has 6 recalls, the most serious being multiple frontal airbag inflator defects on both the driver and passenger sides where an explosion can send metal fragments into the cabin, causing serious injury or death.
The airbag inflator issue affects both sides of the front seat and represents the bulk of these recalls. The inflators, part of the widespread Takata airbag defect, can rupture violently during deployment, turning the airbag module itself into a source of shrapnel rather than protection. There is also a structural recall affecting vehicles sold or registered in certain northeastern, midwestern, and mid-Atlantic states, where frame corrosion can cause a fuel leak that raises the risk of fire if an ignition source is present.
