Hyundai Entourage Recalls

The Hyundai Entourage has 7 recalls covering the 2007–2008 model years, with the most serious being moisture intrusion into the anti-lock brake module on 2007–2008 vehicles that can cause an electrical short and start an engine compartment fire, even when the vehicle is parked and turned off.

The front suspension also carries a significant risk on 2007–2008 models: road salt can corrode the lower front control arms to the point of fracture, which can cause sudden loss of steering and directional control. The hood latch on 2007–2008 vehicles is subject to a related corrosion issue, where the secondary latch can bind and remain unlatched even when the hood appears closed. If the primary latch is then accidentally released, the hood can fly open while driving.

On 2007 models equipped with adjustable brake pedals, the stop lamp switch wiring harness can sit out of position and rub against the steering column's universal joint. Over time, that contact wears through the insulation and can short the harness, causing brake lights to go dark, the engine to stall, or the vehicle to become unable to start.
