2019 HYUNDAI IONIQ Recalls — Canada & USA

The 2019 Hyundai Ioniq has 3 recalls, the most serious being wheel lug nuts that were not fully tightened at the factory, allowing a rear wheel to loosen and detach while driving. The wheel separation issue affects hybrid and plug-in hybrid trims, where insufficiently tightened lug nuts on the right rear wheel can allow the wheel to come free, creating a hazard for other vehicles and pedestrians nearby. On electric models, there is a separate concern with an unstable electrical ground in the onboard charging system that can push the car into a reduced-power mode and, in some cases, cause the vehicle to accelerate after the driver lifts off the accelerator pedal.
