3 recalls across 1 model year
The Hyundai Pony has 3 recalls, all affecting the 1984 model year, with the most serious being a hood latch dust shield that can be installed incorrectly during servicing, which combined with a seized primary hood cable can cause the hood to fly open while driving. A separate heater valve under the dashboard can rupture when the engine is at normal operating temperature, spraying hot coolant onto the driver's feet and legs. The windshield wiper linkage can also disengage from the wiper motor arm under heavy load conditions such as wet or snowy weather, leaving the driver without wiper function and reduced forward visibility.
