HYUNDAI PONY Recalls

The Hyundai Pony has 3 recalls, all affecting the 1984 model year, with the most serious being a hood that can fly open while driving if the primary hood release cable seizes and a plastic dust shield behind the secondary latch is incorrectly installed during servicing. A separate heater valve under the dashboard can rupture when the engine is fully warmed up, spraying hot coolant onto the driver's feet and legs. Under heavy load, such as clearing ice or wet snow, the windshield wiper linkage can separate from the wiper motor arm, leaving the driver without wipers and reduced forward visibility in the conditions that demand them most.
