5 recalls across 7 model years
The Isuzu Reach has 5 recalls covering 2012–2018 model years, with the most serious being a driveshaft universal joint failure on 2013–2018 vehicles modified with an XL hybrid system, where the front driveshaft can detach and cause sudden loss of drive power.
On 2015–2017 models, the rear axle U-bolt nuts can loosen and allow the axle to shift out of alignment, which can cause the propeller shaft to separate and the vehicle to stall. On 2012–2016 models, the left rear wheel hub locking bolts may not have been fully tightened at the factory, allowing the wheel assembly to shift outward from the axle and reduce both steering control and braking performance.
Earlier production from 2012–2014 has two electrical issues. The brake light switch can bend during normal braking or corrode over time, leaving the brake lights inoperative and giving following drivers no warning of a stop. On 2012–2013 stripped chassis, the horn switch contacts can bend or wear out, disabling the horn entirely.
