The 2013 Isuzu Reach has 4 recalls, the most serious being a driveshaft joint failure on vehicles fitted with an XL hybrid system that can cause the front driveshaft to detach and cut drive power, raising crash risk.
A separate drivetrain concern affects the rear axle: left rear wheel bearing hub bolts may not have been tightened properly at the factory, allowing the wheel assembly to shift outward from the axle housing, which reduces braking performance and steering control. On the electrical side, the horn switch contacts can bend or wear out and leave the horn inoperable. There is also a brake light switch that can bend during normal braking and eventually corrode, preventing the brake lights from activating and leaving following drivers without warning that the truck is slowing.
