Summary
The Isuzu NPR has 5 recalls spanning 2008 through 2020, with the most serious being a stuck accelerator pedal on 2008-2009 and 2012-2013 gasoline-engine models where the throttle pedal can wedge under its stopper bolt, hold the engine at full throttle, and make the vehicle very difficult to slow or stop.
On the 2019 model year, a brake line clip on the rear driver's side can be incorrectly installed, allowing the line to contact a grounding bolt and lose pressure, which reduces braking ability and raises crash risk. Also on 2019 models, along with certain 2020 vehicles equipped with a dual-mode seat belt locking mechanism, the front seat belt assembly can fail to properly restrain an occupant in a crash. Moving back to the 2018 model year, diesel-engine vehicles have a brake switch retaining tab that can come loose and allow the switch to detach from the brake pedal bracket entirely, which can affect brake system function. On 2012 models, the main engine computer may not detect a brake pedal switch failure, which means cruise control can stay active even when the driver presses the brake pedal.
