The 2018 Isuzu NPR has 4 recalls, the most serious involving vehicles modified with dual steering, where a small locking piece in the steering shaft can work loose and cause sudden loss of control on the right side of the steering system.
The brake switch is the subject of two related recalls: a switch and its nylon retainer may not have been properly secured to the brake pedal bracket, allowing them to detach. When this happens, the brake lights can stay on whether or not the pedal is pressed, the shift interlock that prevents the transmission from being moved out of park may stop working, and the actual brakes themselves could become harder to apply. The final recall affects vehicles fitted with ASA Electronics Voyager backup camera monitors. The monitor can display a mirror-image picture that makes objects behind the truck appear to be on the opposite side, which can cause a driver to steer the wrong way when backing up.
