2019 Isuzu Npr

The 2019 Isuzu NPR has 4 recalls, the most serious being a braking defect and a steering failure on certain modified trucks, both of which can cause a loss of vehicle control and raise the risk of a crash.

On the brake side, a rear driver-side brake line may have been secured with incorrectly installed clips, allowing the line to contact a grounding bolt. If that contact damages the line, the rear driver-side brakes can stop working, leaving the truck with reduced stopping power. The steering concern affects only vehicles that have been converted to dual-steering configurations: a small key component can work loose from the steering cross shaft, causing sudden loss of control over the right-hand steering input.

There is also a seatbelt concern. Trucks equipped with a dual-mode belt locking mechanism may have a front seatbelt assembly that fails to properly restrain the occupant in a crash, raising the risk of injury. Finally, certain trucks fitted with an ASA Electronics Voyager backup monitor display may show a mirrored or otherwise misleading camera image, which can cause the driver to steer in the wrong direction while reversing and move toward rather than away from an obstacle behind the vehicle.
