The 2014 Jeep Compass has 3 recalls, the most serious involving 2.4L-equipped models where debris in the engine can cause a sudden loss of oil pressure, leading to an engine stall or complete engine failure while driving.
The occupant restraint control module can short circuit and disable the front and side airbags along with the seatbelt pretensioners, leaving occupants without those protections in a crash. There is also a lighting recall affecting vehicles equipped with bi-function halogen projector headlamps, where the daytime running lights may have been configured incorrectly, causing the vehicle to fall outside lighting standards.
