JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE 4XE Recalls

The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE has 8 recalls, with the most serious being a high-voltage battery defect on 2022-2024 models where the battery can fail internally and start a fire while the vehicle is parked or being driven. On the engine side, 2023-2025 models have a separate concern where debris inside the engine can cause the engine to fail, cutting drive power or triggering an engine compartment fire. The 2022 model year with the 2.0L plug-in hybrid engine can also lose drive power abruptly if the transmission control module and hybrid control processor lose communication, shutting the engine down without warning. Stepping back slightly, 2021-2022 models equipped with the 3.6L engine have an exhaust gas recirculation valve that can stick open and cause a sudden loss of drive power. The 2022-2023 model years share a rear coil spring issue where an incorrectly installed spring can detach from the vehicle while driving, creating a road hazard and destabilizing the vehicle. The 2022 model year carries three lighting recalls. The hazard lights can activate and flash when the driver simply presses the brake pedal, which can confuse drivers behind the vehicle. A software error means a failed turn signal goes undetected by the driver and unannounced to surrounding traffic. There is also a tail light side marker issue on 2021-2022 models where damaged assemblies can fail to illuminate, reducing the vehicle's visibility to others at night or in low-visibility conditions.
