The 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE has 4 recalls, the most serious being a high-voltage battery defect that can cause the vehicle to catch fire while parked or driving. The remaining recalls cover a range of mechanical and visibility concerns. The EGR valve, which applies only to vehicles with the 3.6L engine, can stick open and cause a sudden loss of drive power. On the suspension side, the rear coil springs may have been incorrectly installed and can detach from the vehicle while in motion, either of which raises the risk of a crash. There is also a lighting issue where tail light side marker assemblies may be damaged and fail to illuminate, making the vehicle harder for other drivers to see in low-light conditions.
