The 2018 Karma Revero has 8 recalls, with the most serious involving side curtain airbags that can either partially detach from the inflator during deployment or fail to deploy at all in a rollover, leaving occupants with reduced head and ejection protection in a crash.
The airbag concerns are compounded by a structural issue: the upper reinforcement bar inside the driver's side front door may be cracked, reducing the door's ability to resist intrusion in a side impact. Together, these airbag and door structure issues account for the majority of the recalls.
There is also a visibility concern tied to the driver's side exterior mirror. Certain vehicles were built with convex glass instead of flat glass on that mirror, which makes following vehicles and objects appear farther away than they actually are and can lead a driver to misjudge the distance before changing lanes or merging.
