4 recalls across 7 model years
The Lamborghini Aventador has 4 recalls covering 2012 through 2018 model years, with the most serious being a fuel system issue on 2012-2017 Coupe and Roadster models where gasoline can contact the hot exhaust system under certain full-tank driving conditions, raising the risk of a fire.
On 2015-2016 Aventador SV Coupe and SV Roadster models, the bolts that center and secure the brake discs to the wheel hub can loosen over time, eventually allowing a wheel to detach while driving. Across the full 2012-2018 production run, the engine can stall unexpectedly when the accelerator is released below 2,000 rpm while the transmission is automatically downshifting, leaving the driver without power in traffic. On early 2012 models built between July 2011 and April 2012, the headlights can be adjusted horizontally but not vertically, meaning aim cannot be properly set, which reduces the driver's forward visibility and can direct light into oncoming drivers' eyes.
