The 2012 Lamborghini Aventador has 3 recalls, the most serious involving fuel that can contact the hot exhaust system during certain driving conditions with a full tank, raising the risk of a fire.
The engine can also stall unexpectedly when the driver lifts off the accelerator below 2,000 rpm while the transmission is automatically downshifting, cutting power without warning and leaving the car vulnerable to a rear-end collision. On the lighting side, the headlights on certain early-production vehicles can be aimed horizontally but not vertically, meaning the beam angle cannot be properly adjusted up or down. A beam aimed too high can blind oncoming drivers, while one aimed too low cuts the driver's ability to see the road ahead at night.
