The 2017 Lincoln MKC has 3 recalls, both of the most serious involving fire risk: a battery monitor sensor in the engine compartment can overheat and catch fire while the vehicle is parked or being driven, and the engine block heater cord can crack, leak coolant, and short circuit when plugged in.
The third recall covers the rearview camera, which can display a distorted, flipped, or entirely blank image when the vehicle is shifted into reverse. A driver relying on that feed to back up may not see pedestrians, cyclists, or obstacles behind the vehicle.
