The 2017 Lincoln MKT has 4 recalls, the most serious being a leaking turbocharger oil supply tube that can drip oil onto hot engine components and start an engine fire, and a rear suspension toe link that can fracture suddenly and cause loss of vehicle control.
The turbocharger oil leak and the rear suspension issue share the top severity rating. The toe link connects the rear wheel to the suspension and keeps it properly angled; if it breaks, the rear of the vehicle can shift direction without warning, making the car difficult to control. On the visibility side, the rearview camera can display a distorted, flickering, or completely blank image when the vehicle is in reverse, leaving the driver without a reliable view of what is directly behind the car. There is also a structural concern: the B-pillar door trim panels on the driver and front passenger sides can detach while the vehicle is moving and become road debris, creating a hazard for other vehicles.
