2012 Lincoln Zephyr Recalls — Canada & USA

The 2012 Lincoln Zephyr has 3 recalls, all involving the front airbag inflators on both the driver and passenger sides, which can explode and send metal fragments into the cabin, causing serious injury or death.

Both the driver-side and passenger-side airbag inflators are affected. The driver-side inflator can degrade after prolonged exposure to heat and humidity, causing it to explode rather than deploy normally. The passenger-side recalls share the same consequence. These recalls are geographic in scope, applying to vehicles originally sold or ever registered in high-heat, high-humidity regions including Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Texas, and several U.S. territories.
