23 recalls across 10 model years
The Maserati Ghibli has 23 recalls covering 2014 through 2024 model years, with the most serious recent issue affecting 2021–2022 vehicles where the fuel line pressure sensor housing can crack, leak fuel, stall the engine, and create a fire risk near ignition sources.
The 2021–2024 model years have several additional concerns. On 2021 models, the rear seatbelt automatic locking retractors can deactivate too early, preventing a child safety seat from staying properly secured in a crash. Also on 2021 Trofeo trim vehicles with optional 21-inch tires, the tire placard may show incorrect inflation pressures. Across 2021–2024 models, a radio software fault can prevent the rearview camera image from appearing when reversing.
The 2017–2018 model years carry a notable cluster of issues. On 2018 vehicles, front subframe welds may be incomplete and can fracture, causing loss of vehicle control. A separate 2018 recall covers a fuel delivery pipe in the engine compartment that can leak at its connections, raising fire risk. On 2017 models, engine control software can unexpectedly shift the transmission into neutral or park, or shut the engine off entirely during low-speed driving. Also on 2017 models, the rear differential pinion nut can loosen, potentially causing the rear wheels to lock up. A 2016–2017 recall covers certain Pirelli P Zero All Season tires in size 275/40R19 that can develop sidewall cracks and lose air pressure, leading to tire failure or loss of control. In cold weather, 2017 models can also lose rearview camera function when the telematics module enters a protection mode.
Going back to the 2014–2016 era, the front power seat wiring harness on 2014–2017 vehicles can chafe when the seat is adjusted, creating a short circuit and fire risk. On 2014–2016 models, the driver-side floor mat anchor can break and allow the mat to slide forward and trap the accelerator pedal at full throttle. The rear tie-rod bolt on 2014–2016 vehicles may not have been tightened adequately, allowing the tie-rod to separate from the hub carrier and cause loss of control. On 2015 models, certain front wheel bearings may be insufficiently hard, fail prematurely, and compromise handling. Two separate fuel line recalls affect 2014–2015 production: one covers fuel lines that may have been damaged during manufacturing, and another covers delivery hoses that may have been improperly crimped, both capable of leaking fuel and creating fire risk. On 2014 models, the gear shift position indicator may not adequately warn the driver that the transmission is not in park, creating a rollaway risk when exiting the vehicle.
