The 2006 Mazda B Series has 3 recalls, the most serious involving the Takata airbag inflators, where both the driver and passenger frontal airbags can rupture and send metal fragments into the cabin.
Vehicles built between August 18 and November 3, 2005 are considered a higher-risk subset within the broader airbag recall, as those inflators carry an elevated rupture risk. On the passenger side, long-term exposure to heat and humidity can degrade the inflator propellant, causing the airbag to deploy with excessive force. There is also a wiper system concern: the windshield wiper motor on certain trucks may have left the factory without grease on the output shaft gear, and extended use on the high-speed setting can cause the gear teeth to wear down or crack, leaving the wipers inoperative.
