Mercedes-Benz Amg Gla45 Recalls

The Mercedes-Benz AMG GLA45 has 9 recalls spanning 2015 through 2021, with the most serious being a steering shaft defect on 2017–2018 models where the universal joint bearing can work loose over time, separate from the shaft, and cause a sudden loss of steering control.

On 2015–2018 models, the driver airbag can deploy without warning, raising the risk of injury and a crash. The 2015–2016 model years are also subject to two body panel adhesion issues: the front roof panel between the windshield and panoramic sunroof can detach from the vehicle and become a road hazard, and a separate recall addresses the same risk on vehicles where a prior repair may not have bonded that panel correctly.

The 2021 model year has two related rearview camera recalls where a software fault in the multimedia system can cause the backup camera display to go black or reboot during startup, leaving the driver without a rear view while reversing.

Three recalls cover the emergency call system across different year ranges. On 2019–2021 models, the eCall system can become disabled entirely, preventing occupants from reaching emergency services after a crash. On 2017–2021 models, the system can send responders to the wrong location. On 2015–2016 models, a software fault can cause the system's internal clock to drift, also resulting in an inaccurate location being transmitted to emergency services.
