The 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQS450 has 3 recalls, the most serious being a software error in the electric drivetrain that can cut drive power without warning, raising the risk of a crash.
The rear seat belt buckles on certain vehicles may not be properly bolted to the body structure, meaning the buckle can give way in a crash and fail to hold a rear passenger. On the battery side, a separate software fault in the high-voltage battery monitoring system can prevent the driver from receiving any alert when the battery develops a malfunction, leaving the driver unaware of a potentially dangerous condition before it worsens.
