The 2011 Mercedes-Benz GL450 has 3 recalls, the most serious being a driver's frontal airbag inflator that can rupture in a crash and send metal fragments into the cabin, posing a serious injury risk to the driver and passengers.
The remaining two recalls both describe the same brake booster defect: moisture can collect inside the brake booster housing, causing corrosion that reduces braking power or causes brakes to fail outright. A driver pressing the brake pedal may find the vehicle takes significantly longer to stop than expected, or that the brakes do not respond normally at all.
