The 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS550 has 5 recalls, the most serious involving the front suspension leaking oil near an ignition source, which raises the risk of a fire.
Two recalls affect the emergency call system: a software fault can cause the system to report an inaccurate vehicle location during a crash, potentially sending emergency responders to the wrong place. Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve the issue, and the problem has been addressed across multiple filings. On the door hardware side, a latch defect can allow a door that appears locked to open unexpectedly, raising the risk of injury to occupants or bystanders. There is also a center console latch that can release in a crash, allowing loose objects inside to fly around the cabin and strike occupants.
