The 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE 350 4MATIC has 5 recalls, the most serious involving a steering coupling bolt that may not be properly tightened, allowing the steering to loosen from the rack and causing a sudden loss of steering control.
A second critical issue involves 80-amp fuses that can fail unexpectedly, cutting drive power entirely or disabling safety systems including the airbags and instrument cluster while the vehicle is in motion. On the structural side, energy absorbers inside the roof frame may not be properly secured and can break free when the side curtain airbags deploy in a crash, turning those components into loose objects that can strike occupants. The high-voltage battery monitoring software may fail to alert the driver when the battery develops a malfunction, leaving the driver unaware of a problem that could lead to injury. There is also a wheel concern specific to this trim: rim inserts can detach from the wheels while driving and become road debris that poses a hazard to other vehicles nearby.
