On the steering side, rear tie rod lock nuts on certain vehicles may have been assembled incorrectly, allowing the rear tie rods to work loose over time. When that happens, the rear wheel alignment shifts unexpectedly, making the car harder to control and increasing crash risk. The electrical system also has a concern: a backup power feed to the ignition switch may have been wired incorrectly during assembly, meaning that if the main battery loses power and the engine stops while the transmission is out of Park and the electronic parking brake is not set, the transmission may be unable to shift back into Park, leaving the vehicle at risk of rolling. One recall covers headlamp aim on certain vehicles, where the low-beam headlights may be set outside the range required by Canadian safety standards, reducing how well the lights illuminate the road ahead at night.
