What can fail
Rivets holding the rear seat belt D-rings to metal straps weren't properly heat-treated and may crack under load. If they break during a crash, the seat belt could loosen and allow more occupant movement.
What the fix does
Both rear seat belt assemblies will be inspected. If needed, a reinforcement plate will be installed to strengthen the assembly.
