The 2011 MINI Cooper Clubman has two recalls, the more serious being an electrical short-circuit that can start a fire, affecting vehicles registered in certain cold-weather and northern states.
The second recall is a compliance issue limited to vehicles built between February and May of 2011: these cars were fitted with a European-spec instrument cluster that displays a brake warning symbol that does not meet US requirements. Specifically, if the anti-lock brake system develops a fault, only the outer ring of the warning symbol lights up rather than the full ABS indicator, which may leave a driver unaware that their anti-lock brakes are not functioning.
